Pleasure cruise
Not all sailing the same course
Since Paul Sperry dreamt them up close to a hundred years ago, boat shoes have been a hit with sailors, naval officers, Hollywood stars, and Ivy League elites alike. They’ve cemented their spot as a classic. Now, it’s your turn to write the next chapter. We’ve given this legend a subtle Asphalte twist, so it’s perfectly suited for all your modern adventures, from the city streets to the countryside.
Two leathers that won’t sink
Durability is everything to us. So when we designed these, we made sure they’re more aircraft carrier and less pedalo boat. How? By choosing cowhide leather—thick, supple, and built to last. Whether you go for suede or smooth, rest assured these will be with you for years to come.
The sole: the game-changer
Would you take a road trip on flat tyres? Course not. Same goes for shoes. We’ve kitted these out with 100% rubber ‘commando’ soles. They’re like the 4x4s of the shoe world. They’ll keep you steady, rain or shine, on cobbles or country lanes.
Portuguese perfection
The secret to a long-lasting shoe isn’t just in the materials; it’s also in the build. That’s why we entrusted Gomes & Leite, our Portuguese pals with nearly 50 years of expertise, to make them. They’re all Blake stitched—a method that sews the sole, insole, and upper together for ultimate durability. These shoes are not about to split on you.
Comfort you’ll rave about
Boat shoes have always had a moccasin vibe, and we’ve leaned into that heritage. Mocs are a dream for your feet, with their soft and cosy feel. Add to that our cushioned rubber sole and an iconic 360° lacing system for support, and you’ve got shoes that’ll keep your feet happy from sunrise to sunset.
Laces that actually stay tied
For these, we’ve taken inspiration from history with two-tone cords, rough on one side and smooth on the other. And this is not just because they look good that way. The rough side allows the knot to grip better. No more kneeling down every 5m to re-tie your shoe laces.
How to keep them shipshape
Want these to last forever? Follow these steps: 1) Don’t wear them two days on the trot, give them a chance to recuperate after a hard day’s wear. 2) Pop in some shoe trees when not in use. 3) Suede versions? Use a crepe brush. Smooth leather version? Go for a scraper. 4) Waterproof them after cleaning. 5) Just be nice to them.
Land ahoy!
After decades on the high seas, our boat shoes are stepping onto dry land, ready to conquer your wardrobe. With a perfect balance of boldness and tradition, they’re effortlessly stylish. Whether you’re taking an afternoon stole in the country or nipping about the city, these will see you through it all.
