Care Guide for the Striped T-Shirt

Here you are, the proud owner of a Striped T-Shirt. A real collector's item from the Asphalte wardrobe, a tribute piece like we like them. So if you’re hoping to pass it on to your grandchildren while telling them how Grandad knew how to have fun back in the day…or just if you want to keep it looking good for a long time, follow these few tips.

WASHING IT

Put your T-shirt in the wash on a low 30°C setting and rinse on a 600 to 800 rpm max cycle. We strongly recommend that you only wash it with similar colours and, if possible, in a washing net.

When it comes to the detergent, we've said it over and over again, stay away from washing powders with bleaching agents. Instead, use liquid detergent, organic if possible. Your T-shirt dye will thank you for it.

THEN DRYING IT

Forget the tumble dryer to preserve your T-shirt’s fibres looking their best. Simply dry it in the open air, laid flat if possible, to prevent it from warping at the hem, and that's it.

Another detail: Chances are you’ll already be putting it through its paces in the festival mosh pit, so avoid wringing your striped T-shirt to rinse it faster when you take it out of the machine.

AND IRONING IT

It's not that complicated, just apply the iron gently on a low 110°C setting, and add a layer between the iron plate and your T-shirt for extra protection.

FYI, OUR STRIPED T-SHIRT AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Striped T-shirts:

  • They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • Unlike many garments that release microplastics during washing, our Striped T-Shirts have been designed not to do so. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try and incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Striped T-Shirt.

Thanks
