How to care for your Heritage Chinos

Just like the US Army M45 trousers that inspired them, the Heritage Chinos are tough as nails. Made from 260 gr/m² cotton twill, they’ll be with you for many many a year as long as you give them a good clean occasionally. Here's how to do it right.

Washing them

Nothing too complicated here: The Heritage Chinos can be machine-washed at 30°C without complaint. As a precaution, we recommend that you turn them inside out, and wash with similar colours, with a max spin cycle of 800 rpm.

We also recommend using organic liquid detergent.

Drying them

Laid flat is fine. Or hanging upside down is even better, some of the creases will naturally fall out as they dry. We can't stress this enough: clothes dryers ruin your clothes while gobbling up energy. So we recommended drying your chinos dry in a well-ventilated place and letting good old Mother Nature do her best.

Ironing them

If you want to iron your Heritage Chinos for a crisp look, that’s fine. To avoid damaging the fabric, we'd simply advise you to go easy on the temperature, a maximum of 150°C. Also, you might want to add a thin layer of cotton between the iron and your trousers to avoid scorching or marking the fabric.

FYI, OUR HERITAGE CHINOS ARE SOFT ON YOU AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Heritage Chinos:

  • They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Heritage Chinos have been designed to not release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Heritage Chinos.

Thanks!
