The problems you've had with your bomber jackets in the past

1

The quality of the fabric was MIA

2

The cut was too baggy or too short

3

The sheepskin collar was a joke - and not a funny one

4

The colours weren’t on point

Here’s your new wingman

Ready for take-off?

Our Bomber is made from 360g/m2 organic cotton half-basket canvas, put together for us by French technical wear specialists TMT. For those not well versed in fabric weight, 360g/m2 translates to a nice substantial feeling jacket. It’ll take a beating and keep you toasty whether you are reporting for a high-risk, top-secret mission, or just doing the school run.

No leaks here

Whilst we were keen to retain a lot of the details that make the B10 Bomber Jacket an all-time classic, one modern feature we added to the mix was a nice, fluoride-free water-repellent coating so weather rolls right off your back. If you happen to enjoy walking around in waterlogged jackets, then you might want to look elsewhere… Sorry about that.

Fit for duty

Unless you’re moonlighting as a pub bouncer on the weekends you probably don’t fancy a boxy bomber jacket that bunches up just above the waistline. Ours has a modern, slightly tailored fit that’s not too short, leaving enough space for a jumper underneath, without leaving you looking lost inside it.

A collar for any season

That iconic woolly collar is perhaps the B10’s trademark detail, so we made sure ours delivers a maximum dose of softness. It’s made from 85% sheep’s wool and 15% polyester. Why not 100%? Well, as always, we’re looking out for durability so we've added polyester for the backing (aka the fine mesh lining) because it holds way more and it’s impossible to attach to cotton.

No washouts on our watch

A bomber jacket that loses its lustre after a few years? No sir. So we dyed the fabric in rolls. Not only does that mean the colour is more uniform, it also improves colour fastness - meaning your B10 majestic hues are in it for the long haul.

THE INSIDE TRACK

Inside, you’ll find a quilted ripstop liner padded with recycled wadding. This both boosts the comfort stakes up a few notches and makes things really toasty too without restricting your movements.

Pockets a plenty

Pockets might just be the most useful invention of the last millennium. Pilots love them for their maps, compasses and… lozenges. Anyway, even if you are grounded, pockets aren’t something to skimp on. These big flap pockets are perfect for resting your hands in, completed by the Asphalte signature inside pocket. And don’t fret—those double press studs on the outsides will keep your valuables harnessed during any complex aerobatics.

Draught dodging

Anyone who’s worn a jacket before - we’re assuming that’s most of you - will be aware that a lot of cold air can get in via wayward cuffs and ill-fitting hems. To put an end to the reign of the unwanted draught we’ve added chunky elasticated ribbing to these key areas. This is one seriously snug bomber.

Dream come true

You might not be a real-life Top Gun, but your high-flying wardrobe hopes are aced with our B10 Bomber. It’s got all the character of the ‘40s original, tweaked for modern life with robust materials, updated insulation and a perfect fit.
