Care Guide for the Half-Zip Sweatshirt

There aren’t many garments that are easier to care for than your Half-Zip Sweatshirt.

Simply air yours between wears until the time comes to give it a good wash. Here’s how to go about it.

1. Dunk it in the washing machine

Yes, it will withstand a wash without losing its shape or risk ending up in the dreaded sequel ‘Honey I Shrunk the Sweatshirt’.

2. Start the right programme

There's no need to get your sweater into hot water. 30°C with an 800 rpm spin is more than enough. As far as detergents are concerned, it’s liquid and natural if possible.

3. Leave to dry

Forget the tumble dryer. Simply lay your fleece cocoon flat in a well-ventilated area, preferably out of direct sunlight. You'll find it fresh and ready to go in a few hours, and all without spending a penny. How about that?

HALF-ZIP, FULL TRANSPARENCY

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Half-zip Sweatshirts:

  • They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. The body is made of 100% cotton and we added 10% elastane in the ribbing so they don’t end up looking like an accordion. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • As said above, the ribbing of your sweatshirt includes 10% elastane. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that harm aquatic and land ecosystems. So at Asphalte, we do our best to proscribe their use, except when using them considerably extends our garments’ life expectancy. In the case of ribbing, for example, it's difficult to achieve satisfactory elasticity and a good level of resilience without elastane, which is why we've injected a little into our 1/1 ribbing. Having said that, here's how to limit the impact of these materials on our environment.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try and incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Half-zip Sweatshirt.

Thanks!
