Going Above and Beyond

We all know how it goes. Summer rolls around, you fish out that slightly-too-bright-blue suit for a mate’s wedding, wear it for a few hours before sticking it back of the wardrobe until the next round of vows.

Honestly? Breaking the bank on a suit that barely sees the light of day feels a bit criminal.

If you’re nodding along, then you’re going to want to know about our new Linen Suit. A proper summer two-piece whose main purpose isn’t just gathering dust.

It Starts with You

You know how we operate. Before we do anything, we ask you.

The Linen Suit topped our Collection questionnaire, so we knew we had to bring it to life. But instead of rushing in blind, we took the time to ask: What actually makes a good summer suit?

After sifting through hundreds of your answers, you made four things very clear. You want:

  • A suit that doesn’t crease
  • A suit that’s nicely cut
  • A suit that won’t lose its shape after a few wears
  • A suit that’s made from a breathable material

And fair play—linen suits do have a reputation for crumpling at the first sign of movement. The fabric’s light and breezy, but when done wrong, it can leave you looking like you’ve just slept the night in it.

Getting the balance right between linen’s easygoing charm and the structure of a proper suit is a fine art—one our Product Team has spent a lot of time perfecting.

A Masterclass in Craftsmanship

Let’s not beat around the bush—suits are one of the trickiest things to get right. For over 200 years, they’ve been the gold standard of menswear, sculpting silhouettes with precision and elegance.

That kind of heritage comes with high expectations, so every step in the design process needs to be spot-on. From the raw materials to the final stitch, every little detail affects how the suit looks, fits, and holds up over time.

We’ve fine-tuned everything to give you a suit that’s effortlessly balanced—whether you go full two-piece or mix and match.

We started with long-staple French linen, woven by the Italian experts at Leomaster. They’ve crafted us a 275 g/m² fabric—light enough for summer but weighty enough for a clean drape. Plus, a tight weave and quality fibres help keep creasing to a minimum.

Linen naturally ticks all the right boxes—strong, breathable, thermoregulating—but this weave takes things up a notch, adding depth, texture, and durability.

Fit-wise, we’ve taken your feedback to heart: fitted but not restrictive. The jacket sits close to the body to highlight your frame, while the trousers have a bit of extra room in the thighs before tapering to the ankle. Not baggy, not legging-tinglingly tight—just a sharp, comfortable fit.

We’ll break everything down on the product page soon, but here’s a little teaser. When it comes to linen jackets, the Conted workshop in Romania is the crème de la crème in terms of craftsmanship:

Lightweight, unlined construction for all-day comfort

Semi-canvased so that it shapes your chest without any stiffness

The jacket is unlined with a classy extended facing

Generous 8cm lapels, because well-proportioned lapels make a big difference

Tailored shoulders, just the right mix of British sharpness and Neapolitan ease

In short? A tailor-inspired jacket that’s supple and as light as air.

As for the trousers, you’ve got side adjusters for the perfect fit, plus those classic double pleats for a bit of extra comfort and style. Wear them with the jacket, or on their own - they always feel and look damn good.

One Suit, Full Options

Versatility is this suit’s not-so-secret weapon.

We’ve designed it to go beyond the odd wedding or formal event. Well beyond. It’s equally at home hobnobbing as it is holidaying, working as it is wandering about at the weekend.

And the best bit? It’s made to be mixed and matched. Worn as a suit, over a T-shirt and jeans or just the trousers with a polo shirt - you’ve got a total workhorse in your wardrobe that’s always on hand to lift your game.

Each item is designed to work just as well with the other one as it is on its own. It’s a 3-in-1 wardrobe beast.

It provides endless ways of styling it to get you through the summer and beyond.

How to Nail Your Fit

Now, we get it—picking a suit size online can feel like a bit of a gamble. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

The Jacket:

  • Check the width across your shoulders, focusing on the distance between your acromions (the little bony points at the top of your shoulders).
  • Whilst you have the tape measure out, measure your armpit-to-armpit width. This will help you get a snug but comfortable fit.
  • The jacket length should hit between mid and lower bum —too short, and it looks off; too long, and it throws the proportions out.

Tip: Already own a well-fitting jacket? Measure it and use it as a reference.

The Trousers:

  • Waist measurement is key—lay a pair of well-fitting trousers flat and measure across the waistband to compare with our size guide.
  • Leg length isn’t a dealbreaker—chances are, you’ll need a small alteration to get the perfect break anyway.

PS: We’ve tweaked the sizing slightly to accommodate a wider range of body types. If you already own one of our suit jackets, you may need to size down on the jacket size on this occasion. That’s only for the jacket mind, keep to your usual Asphalte size for the trousers.

Mark Your Calendar

This Linen Suit goes live on preorder on 11 March at 10 am Bordeaux time (CET).
