Back to their best
Remember those trousers your grandad used to wear? The super-thick ones he used to potter around tending to his dahlias in? What a guy. And whilst we’ve also got a soft spot for the super durable pipes, it’s no longer the 19th century. So with a bit of help from you as always, we’ve brought them up to date without losing any of what makes them a classic.
We’ve Revamped the Cut
You were clear from the outset, comfort is non-negotiable. So, we kept things roomy but cut out the old-school ballooning. This means a modern, straight silhouette in a chino style with a slight carrot-cut finished mid-ankle. How’s that for a description?
Comfort is Key
A mid-ankle length calls for a higher waist to properly gel style and comfort together. The result? No restrictions. These are a pair of chinos that you’ll simply not want to take off.
The Cord Makes It
What really stands out here is the luscious corduroy and the unique chino cut really brings the best out of it. We’ve gone for a 385g/m2 weight, packing approx 550g into each pair depending on the size you go for.
We didn’t even have to leave France to find it, striking cord gold on our doorstep. Velcorex are based near Strasbourg and have been making the stuff for just short of 200 years. Bigger on quality, smaller on carbon footprint.
Details That Matter
Unlike gramps, you might not be carrying around a pair or secateurs but that doesn’t mean you don’t need good carrying capacity. So we incorporated two ample pockets in the side seams and two welted ones that button at the back.
And to ensure maximum longevity, the fly is fitted with a tonal metal zip.
Colour Coordination
We’re rolling out these Cord Chinos in four colours. Starting with two classic shades in Midnight Blue and Beige, and Forest Green and Petrol Blue for those who are after something a little more punchy.
Which One’s Yours?
These Chinos aren’t just good-looking. They’re also durable, and just as importantly, extremely comfortable. Opt for your usual size. And if you fall between two go for the smaller, the waist will relax a bit with wear. Or use a belt for a looser fit. Probably don’t need to over-explain this, it’s not the first time you’ve got dressed.
