More Than Just a Shirt
Bring on Summer
Not keen on spending summer in just a vest? Fair enough. Time to level up with a shirt that’s just as breezy but about a hundred times sharper. We’ve crafted the Linen Shirt for those who want to maintain their dignity when the mercury’s pushing 31°C. Available for pre-order now – but not for long.
Linen, Nature’s Gift
You probably already know linen is pretty special, but let’s go over why it is again for good measure. Tough, stylish, light, absorbent, breathable, soft, textured—it’s got summer written all over it. Ours is grown in France and carries the European Flax label. This means it’s full traceability, sustainably farmed, and is grown just round the corner.
A Cool Fabric That Behaves Itself
Over in Portugal, the fabric experts at TMG have devised a 165g/m² linen weave just for us. It’s crisp, structured, and made with long fibres to keep creases in check and provide an attractive drape. Best part? It’s dense enough to stop the world from seeing your chest hair – unlike most lightweight linen shirts out there. Breezy without being sheer, relaxed but still sharp… Safe to say, this fabric’s got you properly covered this summer.
The Fit That Just Works
After years of tweaking and testing, we’ve nailed the perfect casual shirt fit. It’s straight but subtly tailored at the waist, meaning you can grab your usual Asphalte size and know it’ll sit just right.
A Collar with Proper Balance
This collar’s been tweaked, tweaked and tweaked again thanks to your feedback over the years. And now? Well, it’s plum on the sweet spot if you ask us. Not too high, not too low, not too stiff, and with buttoned points. Clean, balanced, and effortlessly laid-back.
Big Up the American Placket
Sticking to our casual roots, we’ve gone for an American placket. That’s the vertical strip that the buttons sit on, stitched in two parallel lines to create that time-honoured effect. In the shirting world, it’s seen as casual and modern—unlike the formal French placket.
Finishing Touches Done Right
No cutting corners here. We’ve got bio-based imitation mother-of-pearl buttons, a slightly curved hem for easy tucking, a back collar button for extra support, a reinforced chest pocket, and topstitching galore. Classic Asphalte: all killer, no filler.
Keep It Fresh
Looking after your Linen Shirt is a doddle. Turn it inside out, pop it in a wash bag, and stick it on a 30°C cycle with a gentle spin (400-600 rpm is ideal). Hang it up straight after washing—avoid direct sunlight—and if it needs it, a quick blast with the iron. Sorted.
Time to Get Yours
The Linen Shirt doesn’t overpromise—it just delivers. Designed to keep you cool all summer with maximum style, it’s up for preorder now in your size and colour of choice. Don’t hang about—these won’t be around forever.
