It speaks for itself.

You’ve been perfecting it for 9 years

How those less-than-perfect jumpers missed the mark

1

They shrink after the first wash, and disappear after the third.

2

They lose their shape in a heartbeat

3

They’re itchy

4

They pill and start looking ugly

Still got it

The legend lives on

The Perfect Jumper was first launched in 2016. Those of you who go that far back will remember that it was with this item that got Asphalte started. Since then, we've been constantly refining it thanks to your feedback. This is the 12th version, the culmination of 9 years of iterative co-creation. It's been and continues to be, an astounding achievement.

Getting the main ingredient right

You don’t mess with a winning team, so the Perfect Jumper’s still 100% Merino. The soft yet hardy wool is packed full of amazing natural characteristics, none more so than its thermoregulating abilities. It’ll keep you warm when it’s cold out, yet it’s breathable enough to avoid bursting into sweat when the temperature rises. Seriously useful that.

From farm to wardrobe

Our Perfect Jumper is made from South African Merino wool. We’ve traced it all the way from the sheep’s back to our website’s checkout. It’s 100% tracked and the supply chain’s fully transparent, which means we know who’s worked on your Perfect Jumper, at every step. That means you know what you’re buying. No pulling the wool over our eyes, or yours.

Making bobbles a thing of the past

Bobbles aren’t welcome. A jumper that bobbles is a jumper whose knit is not tight enough. For the Perfect Jumper, we've selected a tight Milano knit: wear it, rub it, roll down a hill in it, and do as you will. There’s no room for bobbles here.

I wouldn’t mind a wash

A CUT ABOVE

Nothing to declare here: we didn’t change a thing. The Perfect Jumper still got that tidy, neat fit. The sleeves are wide enough to let your arms move freely (a plus we think), but not baggy enough to get flap about. Also, we nailed the perfect length, meaning that when you scratch your nose the world won’t see your belly button.

Sleeve Notes

Unless you’re auditioning for the role of Angsty Teenager #3 in a made-for-TV high-school drama, you probably don’t want your sleeves hanging over your hands. To keep the cuffs exactly where they should be we strengthened the ribbing by adding an extra thread. No mall-goth chic with this one.

What a crew

We're still talking about the crew neck collar that's fairly close to the neck. It's 2.8 cm wide, which is a hair more than standard giving it that touch more character. Reliable and hard-wearing, it will let a shirt collar show through while completely hiding a T-shirt.

Fab four seasons

To keep things nice and toasty, we packed 550g worth of wool into each jumper. Thanks to Merino’s mystical breathable qualities, it’s still suitable for mild days, but this stuff really comes into its own when the mercury drops. No more turning the radiators on in September. Bill-friendly knitwear - we think of everything.

What does it look like in real life ?

We called on some of the Asphalte team to give you a real, non-professional-model (sorry guys) idea of what our Perfect Jumper looks like on. Here you go: :
