The cut was poor
3
The wool was of poor quality

The Buttons that couldn’t weather a storm
A breath of fresh wool
This is the only moment France isn’t in the picture but bear with us. The wool in your Sailor's Jumper is sourced in Patagonia. We're talking 26-micron virgin wool, thick and hardwearing. Just how we like it.
Zero imperfections
You can trust your future Sailor's Jumper to be cosy. You might think a wool jumper like this would have some drawbacks, but nope: the wool fibre is very long and tightly knitted, keeping those annoying bobbles at bay.
Knitting with Gallic flair
We head over to the heart of France in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes to La Manufacture de Tricots. With 40 years of expertise, they know a thing or two about making top-quality Jumpers. The result? Just what you expect: snug, yet bouncy enough to ensure great ease of movement.
Worth the weight
This little guy tips the scales at 680 grams. That's over half a kilo of pure top-quality Patagonian wool on your shoulders, giving you all the warmth you need before the chill sets in. Think of it as your own woolly hot water bottle.
Loose base
We've kept the ribbed hem at the bottom of the Sailor's Jumper but loosened it up a bit for a welcome give. Still, the assignment remains the same: keeping those pesky drafts away from your wrists and belly thanks to the 2/2 rib knit. And the fit? More than ever spot on.
The cult buttons
We couldn’t do without this…dare we call it a detail: a Sailor's Jumper without a button placket isn't really a Sailor's Jumper. On the left shoulder, you'll find four French bio-based horn buttons. Handy for taking off your jumper, but more importantly, keeping it historically accurate.
Easy access made in France
This maritime piece is something we're genuinely proud of. It's the most local piece in the Asphalte wardrobe. We're more than chuffed to be able to offer this iconic garment, with its French craftsmanship, and limited environmental impact at this price. Now it's your turn to enjoy it.
New heritage unlocked
Nope, this jumper isn't just a jumper. By adding it to your wardrobe, you're also adding it to your future generation’s wardrobe. It’s a warm, reliable jumper, that's easy to wear and pair. We trust you’ll have many stories to tell with it. Sea shanties at the ready.
