Picking up the slack
Slack, definition
Slack carries this idea of being ‘chilled out’. It implies an attitude somewhere between relaxed and nonchalant. And that’s what the Slack Jacket will bring out in you.
Cut you some slack
From a distance, you'd be forgiven for thinking that you were looking at a two-button suit jacket. The line, the look - it could be formal. But on closer inspection, you realise that it’s not. It’s straighter, shorter, and more utilitarian. The single vent down the back is closer to a horse riding jacket. It’s not what you expect.
A construction that sets the mood
Cut aside, the Slack Jacket's relaxed style comes from its construction- simplicity at its finest. No lining, no shoulder pads- it's the complete opposite of a structured piece of British tailoring. Instead, we call on Italian - and particularly Neapolitan - sprezzatura. Fluid, light and freeing, it’s what they call unrestrained elegance.
100% organic cotton coherence
Dress jackets are synonymous with soft, silky, mainly wool fabrics. The relaxed character of the Slack Jacket however, invites texture, and we chose a beautiful organic cotton twill for this very reason. Weighing 260g/m², it won’t crease much and brings a dry, characterful touch. A unique feel for an equally unique piece.
A notch up
As unstructured as it may be, the Slack Jacket remains dressy thanks to its fine notched lapel. In the purest tailoring tradition, the Slack Jacket's collar is balanced and shaped to perfection. Pair with a shirt, a tie or a good old-fashioned T-shirt. Mamma mia.
Hidden in plain sight
You can't miss the two flapped patch pockets and the welted breast pocket, but hiding inside are also two buttoned pockets. In total, that's 5 pockets to structure the silhouette, more than enough to store your phone, chewing gum, keys, wallet and flyers for those home-delivered meals you couldn't turn down from the guy on the corner.
The finishing touches that finish well
Long, strong cotton fibres, a stunningly textured fabric, expert assembly by Pelintex in Bulgaria, double topstitching, taped seams on the inside for the cleanliness finish, imitation horn resin buttons: you won't be surprise to hear that we've pulled out all the stops to ensure a masterful level of quality.
A word about care
No surprises here: it’s dry cleaners only. Once or twice a year is what's needed to maximise its life expectancy and avoid damage. It’ll thank you in the long run.
PS: if you preorder the matching Slack Trousers, be sure to always dry clean them together to avoid to fading faster than the other.
