Care Guide for the Half-Zip Jumper

How to wash your Half-Zip Jumper?

For starters, we recommend not washing it too often. Your jumper's made of 100% wool, which has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. This means it doesn't need regular washing and will keep smelling fresh even after repeated use. However, we always suggest you give it a breather and air it out every now and then.

But when the time comes, if you feel you need to turn it up a notch on the care side:

  • Top-level is taking it to your dry cleaners.
  • Otherwise, just a cold wash by hand should do the trick. That's provided you rinse it out very delicately. Don't wring it by hand, you might ruin the fibres and stretch your jumper.
  • You can also give it a spin in the wash: choose a cold wool programme or wash it at 30° maximum without exceeding 400rpm on the spin cycle.

Drying it

Whatever you do, no tumble dryers, please. We strongly recommend you lay your jumper out flat to dry al fresco. Also never use a hanger when wet, as the weight of the water in the jumper risks pulling it out of shape.

If you've washed it by hand and it's soaked, the way to dry it safely is to lay it flat on a terry towel and then roll it up tightly. This technique will remove the excess water without distorting the fabric.

Ironing it

Ironing is a good way of keeping your jumper looking new after each wash. Use a medium heat setting (150°C max) with a little steam. The jumper’s ok with that.

FYI, OUR HALF-ZIP KNITS ARE SOFT ON YOU AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Winter Trousers:

  • They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Winter Trousers have been designed to not release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Half-Zip Jumper.
